Growing up in a very abusive family I was molested by my father at the age of 7. I felt very angry as a child and was unable to express my feelings of fear; otherwise my mother would be abused by my dad. I endured a lot of fear and pain that continued to build up inside me. This confusion led me down the wrong path, straight to drugs and prostitution. I was on my way to prison when I was presented with the opportunity to come to Teen Challenge. I have received 100 times more then anything I thought was possible. I found Jesus and true value of who I am in Christ. Everyday my son seems to put that extra joy in my life. I know that Jesus saved my spirit from evil and death. I have learned how to love and respect others. I’m grateful that I have had the opportunity to find Jesus, and now I hunger and seek His glory. I can not wait to see what He has in store for me.

My name is Allison Perez, and I am 20 years old. I have two children, Abel and Mariah. Before I came to Teen Challenge, I didn't have a personal relationship with Jesus. I was involved with gangs, I drank all the time, I did drugs, and was involved in unhealthy relationships. When I came here to Teen Challenge, it took two months before I accepted Jesus into my life.

     Now that Jesus is the leader of my life, I am finally clean and sober. I have absolutely no desire to go back to the lifestyle that I came from. God has transformed me into a more responsible, loving, caring person and mom. I have so many desires in life. Right now one of them is to get my G.E.D. and to go back to school. My other desire is to have a complete family. I know that God, in His right timing, will truly bless me. I have learned that I can trust God and depend on Him for everything and I believe that He is going to continue to be with me guiding me and helping me to make wise decisions that will affect the rest of my life.

            The scripture that really encourages me, it is Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and He will give you success."
